Na Leanai

Na Leanai are a 5 piece traditional Irish music group from the home of Fiddlers Green Festival; Rostrevor, County Down.

Growing up performing songs and tunes learned from their musical parents The Sands Family and from other renowned musicians, it is no wonder this new folk group 'Na Leanai' (pronounced Na Lah-nee) are taking the Irish music scene by storm.

Na Leanai grew up as sons and daughters of the famous County Down Folk Group and after spending many of their years growing up singing with the family, they made the decision in 2014 to officially form the band. Band members include:

Sorcha Turnbull (Daughter of Anne Sands)
Ryanne Sands (Daughter of Ben Sands)
Eimear Keane (Daughter of Anne Sands)
Fra Sands (Son of Hugh Sands)
Moya Sands (Daughter of Tommy Sands)

Mastering the art of blending old and new, a gig will show you a djembe used with flute, whistles, fiddle and guitar as well as the more traditional bodhran.

Allan Taylor

Allan Taylor is one of the last of the travelling troubadours who came through the social and artistic revolution of the nineteen sixties and carved out a career as a solo singer-songwriter.

Allan’s one of the key songwriters of our time, a true professional as much respected by fellow-musicians as by his loyal audiences. Over some 40 years he’s produced a large number of intense and significantly enduring songs. ...mighty consistency of Allan’s writing craft and the unstintingly high quality of his singing and playing.

Kieran Halpin

If the measure of a songwriter is the number of artists singing their songs – then Kieran Halpin must be considered a great modern writer of songs. There can be few writers on the acoustic/folk scene in Europe today who have had more songs covered. Names like Ilse De Lange(All The Answers), Vin Garbutt, Dolores Keane, The Battlefield Band, John Wright, Flossie, Niamh Parsons, Chris Jones and countless more have recorded his songs. In fact his songs can be heard in folk clubs, pubs and festivals all over the world sung by the famous and not so famous. Often the songs are better known than the writer himself! Some have been translated into German, Finnish and Spanish! He has recorded albums in his native Ireland, Scotland, London, Nashville, Oxford and Sydney.
