Jed Grimes

An accomplished guitarist and producer, this former member of groundbreaking bands Hedgehog Pie and Jack The Lad has tasty vocal talents too.

In common with erstwhile Hedgehogs oppo Dave Burland, Grimes' heart is rooted deep in both traditional and contemporary music and head on fuses songs and tunes with pigeonhole-defying arrangements which offer more at every listen.

Robin Laing

Superb interpreter of traditional Scottish songs and writer of many new ones.

He is a renowned Scotch whisky expert and has dedicated many of his musical works to the wee dram, as well as writing several books on the subject.

Engaging, articulate, and armed with a terrific repertoire, ranging from atmospheric and passionate ballads to carefree compositions with plenty of scope for audience participation.

Blue Rose Code

“Blue Rose Code is as slippery as an eel; a genre dodger; a mess of influences and contradictions. This rare display of soul and emotion will not be boxed, a sign of something special.” – David Kushar of Spiral Earth.

Edinburgh born Ross Wilson spent his creative formative years in East London, then moved to South England “to be by the sea’s energy” but it is in his homecoming that he has found where his heart is.
Life wasn’t always simple for Wilson. “I have swapped one type of chaos for another” says Wilson.

On my darkest day I found my benediction

Wild Camping

Just to let you know that Ruberslaw Wild Woods Camping are keeping their camp site open over the Folk Festival. If anyone is looking for somewhere to stay and likes to bring a tent, they should contact us after visiting our website www.ruberslaw.co.uk

Important at this time of year - showers and toilets have underfloor heating and lots of hot water, and there is a good kitchen on site with cooker, fridge, kettle, microwave etc, and campers can get one of our firebowls with bags of logs to sit around.
