The CFC meets on the last Thursday of the month in the Elphinstone Hotel, Biggar, Scotland.
The Club is based at “The Elph”, which is centrally located on the High Street close to the top pedestrian crossing and opposite the Corn Exchange. We either use the upstairs bar (up to 30 people) or the upstairs lounge (up to 70 people). Drinks are usually available downstairs and if you plan your evening properly then “The Elph” serves really good meals.
( See separate page for details). Sorry to inform you that the folk club has cancelled all meetings, whether sessions or guest nights for the foreseeable future. If and when the club restarts in its old or different format information will be posted here.
Meets in the main bar of the Traquair Arms Hotel, Traquair Road, Innerleithen, from about 8:30 till 11 pm every second Thursday.
It is on the alternative Thursday to the Peebles Folk Club.
The Kelso Folk and Live Music Club hold two weekly Friday night sessions which are open to all.
- The early session (8.00 – 10.30pm) at The Oak Room, Cross Keys Hotel is an acoustic floor spot session.
- The late session (10.00pm until closing) at the Cobbles Inn, Bowmont Street, mixes traditional tunes and songs with popular acoustic evergreens on an ‘all join in’ basis with the occasional standout solo, or a wee group doing something too difficult for the rest of us!
