the LAND, the LIGHT, the LOCALS - HEADER

Kenny Speirs is the leading light

The events over the Hogmanay period have again passed into the annuls of history, this time with just Kenny Speirs at the helm.

They have their own web site now - check it out at www.thelandthelightthelocals.co.uk

If you were not there time you missed an other great event, but you can check out the new batch of pictures by clicking the icon below.

The following song, written by Thomas Zimmerman, one of our German visitors, I think sums it up.

Borders Call

(to the tune of House of the Rising Sun)

There is a house in Denholm Town
They call it Village Hall
And it's been the place for many events
And so to Hogmanay's Ball

There is a father of this Hogmanay
We call him Shankend Mac
And he's been the well for all good music
Without him there will be a lack

In Melrose we met a Rugby Team
They're called the Balls of Hawick
And they've been the ruin for "The Rest of the World"
And God knows we were f… hugged

There is a mother of all Hogmanay's
We call her Ros Halley
And she's been as bright as the comet's name
And we thank you for all you have done

There is a place in Scotland now
We all like to return
And that's to the place where friendship grows
I hear my Borders call
